• Walgreens “Seniors Day," is the first Tuesday of each month. myWalgreens members 55 years old and older or a caregiver of a senior 55 years old and older can get a 20% discount on eligible regular-priced merchandise, both in-store and online. Check with your local Walgreens for more details.

• Under some insurance benefits, frozen  meals can be requested through a vendor like Mom’s Meals to be delivered after a hospital discharge or any inpatient discharge.

• Some Medicare Advantage plans offer a grocery allowance per year. The allowance can be approved for the use of purchasing healthy groceries, utilities, household essentials, personal care products, and over-the-counter products. Call your insurance provider to see if this benefit is available for you or your loved one.

• Medicare released new guidelines in 2023 discontinuing the requirement for an order from your primary care physician for a hearing diagnostic. The only exception is if you have already had a hearing test that was billed to Medicare in the last 12 months.

• Some hearing offices have a foundation or works with a foundation to help with the cost of hearing aids

• Companies like Dementia Safe Tag, AngelSense, Theora Connect, GPS SmartSole and If I Need Help offers tracking jewelry for dementia patients.

• If you have a Trust and you have your home in the Trust you will need to notify your home owners insurance carrier that your Trust owns the home. Not notifying your carrier may cause a non payment in claims filed in the future.
